grandmothersconnected

Lately, it seems like so many of my baby boomer friends are becoming grandmothers. To be a loving grandmother who is involved with her grandchildren’s lives seems easy on the surface. However, I also need to respect and be aware of my adult children’s child rearing practices and actively support their wishes. Although my grandson lives a few miles from our home, my granddaughter lives in another state and I sometimes wonder how I can connect with her in ways that she’ll feel my love. And now that my children have children, how does our relationship continue to mature and deepen? Because now I’m not just “mom”,  I’m also “grandma”.
